I AM BACK!

Time flies, it seems...  its been 6 years since I've last posted anything to this blog.  There are many reasons I can find I suppose to justify the lack of posting, but lets just blame easier and quicker ways to share content, such as Facebook which has been my go to medium to share rides over the past few years.

I have however, made a concerted effort and decision that I will resuscitate my blog again and start posting our rides.  Much has changed in the past few years, we've sold our trusted KLRs.  In the 10 years that I got to enjoy adventure riding on my KLR, it carried me safely (well mostly) across rivers through thick sand and through and over many mountain passes that even some 4x4's found challenging.  I clocked up over 80 000kms since purchasing my then new KLR in 2011.  It warms my heart to know that she new belongs to a friend who loves my KLR as much as I did.  Like me, she too had a 20 year sabbatical from riding motorcycles and is now loving the new direction that the KLR is taking her in.   Her husband bought my hubby's KLR and they are loving the bikes.

The hubby and I upgraded to Yamaha XT660Z's in 2021, and I would by lying if I said I didn't like my new steed.  I simply LOVE it!   Fitted me like a glove the moment I set foot on it and although we've only had the bikes since early 2021, we've already done over 8000kms on it, and that just on weekends and the occasional long weekend trips.  We remain true adventure riders, often in search of new roads and roads less travelled in, around and beyond the Western Cape and have acquired a few new riders to our group since previous posts.

Watch this space... I will start blogging all our trips going forward, to share with likeminded people/adventure motorcycle riders/family/friends or anyone who would like to share in our passion for adventure motorcycle riding to enjoy the trips from the comfort of their computer screens (for the not so adventurous among us 😉)
